Matters of The Heart

Matters of the heart, issues of the heart, troubles of the heart are all the same. We can deceive others and tell them, “Nothing’s the “matter”, but God knows the Matters of the heart.

A person will laugh and yet have a heavy heart. Not everyone is qualified to deal with the matters of the heart…. But the Word of God is skilled in judging the heart. Everything that the heart thinks and considers is never hidden from the Word.

In a literal sense, “matter” is something that occupies space. My question to you today is, “What’s occupying the space in your heart? What is the “matter” of your heart?”  Let it not be evil, malice, revenge, unforgiveness or the like. The heart can be very wicked and harbor ungodly things if we allow it.

Purify our hearts is our prayer on today. Let our hearts be free from hidden things when we cry out to God.  Whatever the “matters” of our hearts are, let that space be occupied with God’s love instead.

Betrayal & Persecution Pt. 2- The Judas Kiss

We all know that Judas betrayed Jesus with a “kiss”. This was a very intimate act. This was a sign of affection, love, and reverence. This was the way to greet someone you cared for. This demonstrates to us how watchful we must be. The very one that kisses your face will stab you in your back.  Jesus wasn’t ignorant concerning Judas’ scheme against him. This was the ultimate act of betrayal. In fact, Jesus asked Judas, “Betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?” Jesus wasn’t caught by surprise. He had just finished praying earnestly to the Father until his sweat was like great drops of blood falling. This is why we must stay before the Lord in prayer, for whatever lies ahead. Even still, it had to happen. The enemy had to use someone to help fulfill Jesus’ purpose on earth. The enemy has to use someone to help fulfill your purpose here on earth. Jesus had to be kissed to be recognized in the crowd, to be arrested by the soldiers, to be beaten, to be tried, to be lifted up and crucified. Jesus said, “If I be lifted up I’ll draw all men unto me”. There had to be a lifting and the kiss was just part of the process.

Betrayal & Persecution Pt. 1

I guess when we learn to take the persecution and betrayal and not dwell on it and ALLOW it to affect us, it is then that we realize we have grown. Initially it will hurt or might even cause confusion, but that’s the carnal, human part of us reacting first. But then we must begin to look at the spiritual aspect of things. Those that live Godly SHALL suffer persecution. What is persecution? Being oppressed because of what you believe in or being troubled persistently. It’s going to come, whether it be through friend or foe, kinsman or stranger, expect it. When it comes through kinship or friendship, there is a certain level of hurt that one experiences and many questions that run through the mind. In all of this I realize that it HAS to happen. Jesus’ betrayal HAD to happen to get him to the cross. The “kiss” from Judas was an absolute necessity. Golgotha’s hill had to be trodden. The cross he HAD to bear. It all had a purpose that must be filled.

Wake Up!

Romans 13:11-12  And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed

The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness and let us put on the armour of light.

 

Some of us need a little push to get us up and going. Now is the time to wake up. Now is the time to be alert, aware, observant. Sleep doesn’t just come with your eyes closed. So many people are physically conscious, but mentally asleep. The time is approaching for Jesus’ return. Let us be found doing a work while it’s day because the night comes when no man can work. Time here on earth is LIMITED and there’s a great work to be done. Accomplishments are yet to be made in the natural and spiritual life.

Do you ever feel as though there is not enough time in the day? There is an urgency to DO, BECOME, OBTAIN!

We’ve slept long enough. Daylight is approaching. Shake off the sleep. Peel off the sheet of darkness and put on the light.

….This is your wakeup call!
